GermanComp

v1.5.3 (LVO) Community Beta

A community comp pack for Warhammer: The Old World (TOW).

Three stackable pillars: the Restriction pack caps what a list may contain, the Gamechanger pack changes the rules of the game itself, and the Faction pack carries the per-army blocks. Each is selected on its own, so a TO can run one, two or all three. Battle March replaces the Restriction pack for games of up to 999 pts, and brings the Arcane Journal's Battle March magic items with it.

Notes
"Mortis Engine, Sceptre De Noirot both count as Wizard Level for the restriction" — one of the clauses 1.5.3 (LVO) makes conditional on the Vampire army in play. The weights sit here rather than in a Vampire-scoped rule of their own because the budget is army-wide, and carry the army scope themselves so a Renegades list — which the pack exempts, and which is the same faction — is not charged for them.
Rule I. Restriction Checked

0-4 units with the Fly (X) special rule, one per 500 pts. A unit counts by its points cost: 70 or less counts 0.5, 71–340 counts 1, 341–540 counts 1.5, and 541+ counts 2. A Behemoth with a Regeneration save counts 0.5 more, even without Fly.

Notes
additions: "Any unit with a Regeneration save that is a Behemoth (even without Fly) counts as 0,5 additional units". This is the 1.5.3c wording, which is what the pack scores; the earlier triple-save wording is not what is published here, so `hasArmourSave` stays unused even though ING-411 now makes it checkable. `additions` is the right half of the rule: it stacks on the band above for a Behemoth that also flies, which is what "additional" says. `hasRegeneration` rather than the rule name, so a save a talisman confers counts (ING-475).
Rule I. Restriction Checked

0-4 war machines or models with War Machine weaponry, one per 500 pts. Bolt Throwers and the Anvil of Doom do not count. Cathay: an Ogre Loader counts as one additional war machine.

Rule III. Faction Happens at the table

A hand weapon inscribed with Weapon runes keeps the Gromril Weapons special rule, so its Armour Piercing stacks with the runes.

Id
dwarf-gromril-runes
Notes
type: Gromril Weapons ceases to apply once a hand weapon carries Weapon runes, and the pack turns that clause off. It is not a patch: only the profiles that already carry the rule are affected, and buying a rune never strips it from a list, so the whole change is the Armour Piercing the two add up to at the table.
Rule III. Faction Points at rules elsewhere

The two halves of "champs in core 35, in special 50". Consumed by
Saurus Warriors, Cold One Riders
Notes
type: "One Saurus Hero and 0-1 units" per Saurus Hero, and the unit takes the hero's spawning — so counting each spawning separately is the whole rule: a second unit of Sotek needs a second Sotek hero.

Rule I. Restriction Not checked — awaiting the source

Vampires not using the 1.5.3.1 Renegades list treat Grave Guard as heavy cavalry. Not applied: the wording in the source is garbled and we have not confirmed what it changes.

Only in: Vampire Counts, Vampire Counts Renegades

Id
vampire-grave-guard
Notes
Printed as "apply heal Grave Guard as heavy Cav", which does not parse. Quoted rather than guessed: reading it as a troop-type change would reprice and re-cap the unit.
Rule III. Faction Happens at the table

Zombies keep Toughness 3 near a Corpse Cart — the Corpse Cart grants them no Toughness bonus.

Id

Notes
Resolved at the table. Nothing to patch: the catalogue prints Zombies at Toughness 3 already, because the Corpse Cart's bonus is an aura the list model never applied.

Notes
The two halves of "champs in core 35, in special 50". The patches raise every elf champion to the allowance of the widest category its army lists the unit under; these report the units where that is too generous, because the allowance sits on the profile and the profile is the same object in Core and in Special.
Rule III. Faction Checked

The champion allowance is raised in Core and Special only — a champion taken in Rare keeps the 25 pts its own entry grants.
